Attending a Refresher Programme in Distance Education at IGNOU, New Delhi from 22nd March to 16th April.
When i came here, i simply thought of it as a getaway, a break from the usual hectic life back home, office, home, parents, confusion, chaos, routine.
Initially i enjoyed the peace and quiet and solitude. walks in the evening, no botheration of what to cook or buy provisions etc.
There were 15 participants, four from outside IGNOU, one from RSD, two from Regional Centres and the rest from IGNOU. Mainly the School of Foreign Languages and one each from School of Extension, DPEP-Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan, NCIDE, NCDS. I had not known any of the participants well at all.
I had not met some of the RPs here despite being in the same organisation for over 13 years.
But soon we got along quite well and became one good group.
The topics initially did not sound exciting, but gradually became interesting. The sessions where we actually did something were quite interesting and a learning experience. Although we know many things it was interesting getting down to actually recording a mock panel discussion or making an audio report. Similarly, Ashok Nishesh, was a good teacher and made us realise many small aspects which may have gone unnoticed. And here i am making my first blog.
By the end of this programme, i am sure i will go back to home base Pune, really refreshed. Must ask RCS and RR to read this. Miss them at RC Pune
